Congratulations to TJ’s Lauren Grosso! She recently got engaged and had NO idea it was coming! Their story: “Jason is a police officer and told me he was working a night shift. My best friends asked me to go to the local park to walk our dogs and then to dinner after. The park happened to be the one where Jason and I had our first date. As we were walking down the trail, I saw Jason holding flowers. To my surprise, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! Of course, I said, “yes!”. I was in complete shock. Our family was waiting to celebrate at a local brewery. It was very sweet and sentimental.” They bought a house a year ago, so they are often busy working on house projects. They also love cooking dinners together, hiking, and spending time with their golden retriever, Chase.

The bilingual department made personal phone calls to all students in the Newcomer Program - these students are brand new, and have never had virtual instruction. The bilingual department made sure each student knew how to log in and how to access all the important resources. We are so lucky to have them! Thank you for all you do! #MSDadvantage From left to right, standing: Diego Salas, Kathryn Trepedino, Alina White, Wendy Bateman, Luis Dajer, Flavio Labrador, Trevor Courtright Seated: Judson Bouchard, Kaitlin O’Rourke, Sergio Salas, Debora Petrucci, Anthony Alban Not pictured: Erin Shah, Angie Rosario, David Martinez

Karlie Dehn, WD, HC, TJ and AH's OT got engaged! Here is her story: On October 20th, I just got out of work and was running to the dock to make sure I made it for our nightly sunset ride on Lake Hopatcong. As I was running down the dock, Jon let Oakley, our dog, run to me and asked me to look at her tag. In Oakley's energetic fashion, she ran the opposite way. Then all of a sudden in sweatpants, slippers, and all, Jon asked me to marry him. It has been, and always will be, my favorite sunset ride in the place we are lucky to call home.

Kristen (Leeson) Lightman is a third grade teacher at Sussex. Kristen and Zack were scheduled to get married on August 15, 2020 in Rockport, Maine. However, due to Covid-19 and certain restrictions, they decided to postpone their wedding one year. They still got married on their original date in front of their immediate family at Zack’s childhood home in Pennsylvania. And then this past summer, they got to celebrate their originally planned wedding with all their loved ones in Maine on August 21, 2021!
